As you can quickly figure out if you’ve ever read my freelance writing blog, I’m a big believer in specialization as a freelance writer. Specialization usually leads to higher-paying writing gigs, and it allows you to brand yourself as an expert (which makes marketing easier, saves on research time, and more).

When it comes to making money specifically in writing for the Web, I believe one thing is even more important than specialization: not putting all of your eggs into one basket.

Here at the Web Writer’s Guide, I won’t only teach you how to secure higher-paying Web-based freelance writing clients. I’ll also be teaching you how to make money online through your writing in other ways, from managing and monetizing your own websites and blogs to publishing and selling digital products such as e-books.

You’ll learn how to earn not only by being paid outright for your writing, but through affiliate programs, other advertising models, more passive product sales, and even different payment models from clients (revenue sharing and payments by pageviews for example) and how you can make them work for you.

In addition to the blog, I’ll be publishing a series of e-books and reports here for those interested in getting started as a freelance Web writer, or those writers interested in learning how to earn more from their writing online.
